The Status-6 ballistic missile submarine and the November test

The Status-6, named with Kanyon code by the Pentagon and conceived as the first ballistic missile submarine in the world, was tested on November 27th, during an undercover operation. No doubt according the US intelligence agencies: it’ s the Ocean Multipurpose System: Status-6 to be launched from a submarine class Sarov, as per 20120 project.

During the filming of Vladimir Putin and his Defense officers at their meeting, held in Sochi on November 9th last year, some Russian issuers resumed "carelessly" (v. Frame aperture) about the ultra-secret project information guarded by a general. The Kremlin’ s spokesman reaction, Dmitry Peskov, went particularly moderate: "It is true, classified information were taken by the cameras. Some we made them clear, but we were unable to pick up the entire shot. We hope this will not happen again in the future."

A few believed that such a project was missed from the Russian militaries as a lucky coincidence, after all the meeting was centered precisely on countermeasures to be taken in a hypothetical battle against NATO and the United States.

If the last November 27th test detected by the Pentagon concerned precisely the Status-6, the operation occurred last year would be a colossal disinformation aimed to deceiving the United States. In the above mentioned movie, in fact, they postponed to 2019 the sea testing prototype.

The Ocean Multipurpose System: Status-6 is a radioactive nuclear-powered torpedo able to contaminating the economic targets of the enemy's coasts as the fishing areas. According to the official Moscow’s description, the Ocean Multipurpose System: Status-6 is designed to "cause unacceptable damage, contaminating vast enemy coastal areas transforming them to a lifeless area for a longtime."

The first prototype has been tested , contrarly to what previously assumed.

Ten thousand kilometers ranged, possibly coupled to an ability to dive a thousand meters and a 100 knots speed: it would certainly be able to bypass the NATO defense system. It is clearly a submarine ICBM with a header cobalt, strategic nuclear weapon.

Status-6 is designed to be an automatic retaliatory missile system. If the US were to wipe out the Russian leadership with a preemptive strike, the Status-6 would be launched from the sea depths. It is clearly an argument belonging to the atomic war ‘s topics. It seems clear that even if the US attacked previously, would still be affected by at least a hundred Russian nuclear warheads.

Status-6 would be just one more thought, but certainly not the worst. The Status-6 is not only one of the many Russian strategic weapons inventory, but it is the final one for its ability to create radioactive dead zones in the long term. Its Cobalt head would be devastating to natural resources such as fishing and offshore oil fields. Status-6 is designed to starve the sea survivors of a nuclear holocaust.

Russians may have misdirected the Status-6 submarines launching. Initially it was thought that the K-139 Belgorod and Khabarovsk, the Oscar II class submarine evolutions had launched the Status-6. K-139 should play retaliatory missions, while the Khabarovsk, 09851 project, similar to the Borei class, it s not that clear. The US intelligence agencies, however, state that launching the prototype nuclear propulsion would be the B-90 Project 20120, experimental submarine compatible with the type of operation carried out on November 27th .

The so called 20120 project, inspired to the PL 877B project, implements a radically different from any other propulsion submarine in service. The standard diesel-electric propulsion is associated to an auxiliary reactor designated VAU-6, evidently designed to allow the submarine greater diving times, thanks to the source of backup power. The B-90 is clearly derived from the Kilo-class, but is an experimental testing ground for weapons systems and new reactors.
